Fake bechamel sauce sans roux
Ingredients
Milk - 600ml | |
Onion - 1 | |
Bay leaf - 1 | |
Cloves - 2 or 3 | |
Whole black peppercorns - 6 | |
Nutmeg - Grounded | |
Cheese - 100g | |
Cornflour |
Method

Bring the milk just to the boil with the onion pierced with the bay leaf and cloves, nutmeg and the peppercorns. |

Remove from the heat and leave to infuse for 20 minutes before straining. |

Brink back to the hob over a low heat. Added the cheese bit by bit until mixed |

Add cornflour to thicken if necessary |
